Mid year round up!

Mid year round up!

Doesn’t time just fly by? This Mid-Year Roundup shouts out some of the exciting new features we’ve introduced in 2023. You can check out our January, February, March, April and May roundups for more details and information. Roundups also recap our webinars, live events and blog posts, so you never miss a beat.

We love finding new and exciting ways to supercharge your data analytics and add more value to your investment in Qlik Sense. If there are any features you’d like to see in a future Monthly Round up, let us know! You can submit feature requests here.

Vizlib Library

We’ve introduced some new features that will make your dashboards easier to create, and more impactful.

In January, we introduced the ability to use images in Vizlib Filter. This helps you break up text-heavy data sheets, making for a more convenient and visually appealing user experience.  In this example, images are used to quickly identify brands.

An update from February provides an exciting new way to interact with your dashboard. Set up a Viztip for a Vizlib Filter, then use the Vizlib variables by including them in Expressions within various visualizations (such as a pie or bar chart). When you hover your mouse over the Filter, you can drill down into your chosen dimension.

It’s that perfect combination– simple to create, while facilitating deeper insight.

We’ve also made improvements to our Bar Charts, including the introduction of automatic X-Axis padding and new scrollbar options. Our Container Grid also had some exciting tweaks; you’ll now find that you can go from Analyse mode to the Selection menu and back without losing your tab state, and newly created bookmarks will remember the container tab.

But that’s not all! In April, we made some updates to the Vizlib Tables’ ever-popular indicator feature. You can now choose between ‘Single’– the original way of calculating ranges– and ‘Rules’ to determine indicator ranges found in your table measures.

Vizlib Collaboration

There’s been a lot of buzz about Writeback in 2023. Always keen to stay ahead of the curve, we introduced some powerful new functionalities and formatting improvements to our Vizlib Writeback Table.

We’ve made it possible to edit multiple rows in the Writeback Table at once, which is a real timesaver. Additionally, an exciting new feature called Row-Locking makes it easier for multiple users to work with the same data set at the same time. When another user is working on a row, it automatically locks, preventing overlapping changes. See this in action below.

In March, we introduced the ability to stripe rows. This makes the table more readable and accessible by introducing a clear visual structure.

We’ve also improved group-related filtering. Using Association IDs and Qlik Sense logic, we’ve introduced the ability to filter values and display product groups and product lines. This means you can highlight and hide data groups as required.

Vizlib Self-Service

There have been a number of great updates to Vizlib Self-Service, but a star of the show is the release of Vizlib Toolbar 2.0. The overhaul significantly improves performance, while creating the structure to add even more features in the future.

Quick Select mode and Rectangle area selection make the Toolbar that much more intuitive. Additionally, you can now force one value in a field to always be selected, allowing you to deselect an old value and select a new one in a single click.

We also added a converter from the Vizlib Selection Bar extension. This lets you easily switch to Vizlib Toolbar and access the settings not available in Selection Bar, including drop-downs, sliders, input fields and buttons configurable with all Vizlib Actions.

The Custom Report also benefited from some changes. A brand-new icon helps you manage dimensions and measures in the Analytic Search row. Simply click ‘X’ to remove the item, then start typing to select a new item. This saves space and leaves more room for your visualization.

We introduced the ability to specify which variable changes should force the Custom Report to update. This functionality can be used in a number of ways; for example, to switch the language of a report.

Vizlib Gantt

Vizlib Gantt is all about giving you the depth and visibility of information you need to optimise your project outcomes. Our update enables you to add more group levels to the Vizlib Gantt Chart for even more clarity.

A new tool identifies global and regional events, such as public holidays or religious celebrations, making it easy to anticipate times of reduced staff or busy workloads. Set-up is fast and simple– just insert the field name with the date list, or a CSV, into the expression field.

Vizlib Finance

Vizlib Finance has been updated with some new customisation tools. Want to control the font size row height in the Finance Report? Set the font size and adjust the vertical padding to one of the fixed sizes, or select a specific number of pixels.

Vizlib Live!

It doesn’t get much more exciting than the release of a brand new product. We launched the ground-breaking Vizlib Live! in January.

This powerful solution helps you get more from Qlik (and your data) than ever before. Empowering you to blend the data in your Qlik Sense app with the data stored in your Cloud database, you can use both sources in one cohesive analytical experience.

We introduced an exciting new capability in April; the option to automatically trigger a data refresh. This is perfect for when you’re monitoring time sensitive data and need to be sure it’s always up-to-date.
